How do you use a sharpening stone?
To get your knife razor-sharp, you go through three steps: pre-sharpening, fine-sharpening, and polishing. Pre-sharpening involves using a coarse whetstone (up to 600 grit) to restore the cutting edge to the correct angle and remove any damage. Then, fine-sharpening with a finer whetstone (600-3000 grit) smooths and sharpens the edge. Finally, polishing completes the finish; using a very fine whetstone (3000+) or a strop removes any remaining imperfections, giving the knife a mirror-smooth and extremely sharp edge. This method keeps your knives in top condition for effortless cutting.
If you use your knives regularly, they can lose their sharpness. Sharpening stones can help you maintain their sharpness and enjoy cutting comfort for longer.
Made with a coarse and a fine grit, the sharpening stone has two sides with different grit sizes. This means you don't need to invest in two sharpening stones.
